Much has been written about supporting infertility with homeopathy. And rightly so.
There are many heart-warming stories of families who’ve avoided visiting a fertility clinic with the help of homeopathy. If you’re in this space, homeopathy can have huge benefits.
But what about us who end up at a clinic anyway.
There can be many personal reasons for this, including but not limited to:
- Years of trying to have a baby, with or without holistic health support
- Explained fertility challenges
- Unexplained fertility challenges
- Being in a same sex relationship
- Not being in a relationship
- Other health and personal issues
So, what then? Does homeopathy go out the window?
No.
Homeopathy can still help in many different ways. Both for the woman undergoing treatment, and her partner or family:
Holistic support
Seeing a homeopath during times of physical and emotional change and trauma is of huge benefit.
Just because medical professionals are intervening, you are still centre stage here. Supporting your physical body and emotional life is of huge importance and benefit.
Not just for the chance of conception, which is often understandably at the forefront during these times. But also, to help you move through these processes with the greatest ease, and possibly growth.
The relationship between stress and fertility has been deeply explored in the last decade or so. Supporting you is supporting your family, and future family dreams.
Although many acute situations can be addressed through self-prescribing homeopathic remedies, when in their early stages, this isn’t one of them. Firstly, it’s not acute. But more than this, you need someone to see through the complex layers here, and support you in the most encompassing way.
Becoming pregnant
This comes with a plethora of worries, anxieties, and physical symptoms. For more information on many of these physical symptoms see my other blogs.
The emotions following putting so much into becoming pregnant can be hard to balance. Maybe you’re questioning your choices. It’s complex. A homeopath can help you manage the emotional aspects of this delicate time.
Detoxing fertility drugs
Drugs have an effect. That’s why we use them. These effects swing to the positive (helping you have a baby) and the negative (usually known as side effects).
Following fertility treatment homeopathy can help detox the body of fertility drugs. How this is done will depend on the conventional medicine protocols used, every treatment and clinic have a different one, and more importantly how you tolerated them.
Detoxes should be done under the guidance and support of a qualified homeopath, and after pregnancy and breastfeeding. Ordinarily this would not be done during cycles, but after the process has come to an end.
If fertility treatment has not been successful
I talk about going into a round of fertility treatment as like stepping into a washing machine. And you can’t get out until the cycle is over.
The end of that cycle can feel like being dumped onto a cold wet floor.
Homeopathy comes into its own in these situations. Helping you possibly:
- Work through the emotions to make decisions with a clear head
- Reconnect with your partner or family
- Grieve
- Move forwards
An experienced homeopath can help you manage these emotions and integrate them into the next steps of your life.
Fertility treatment is such a personal journey, for each family. If you’d like to discuss what individual support you may need, book a free chat with me here.
For whatever reason you are reading this, take care of yourself. It’s a complex and potentially fragile time.
